A FORMATIVE YEAR

The Preparation Year & Half Prep Year are for young people that are not sure what they want to do after matriculating as well as for those who want to gain experience doing various courses, tours, and volunteer work. The life skills we teach are practical life skills and emotional life skills. We have a holistic approach and focus on a balanced body, soul, and spirit.

This can be viewed as a formative time for young adults to become independent and learn a great deal of responsibility prior to engaging in continued education or work life. This Prep Year/ Half Prep Year consists of courses, internships, learning a trade, travel, and volunteer work, all for the purpose of improving knowledge, maturity, decision-making, leadership, independence, and self-sufficiency. This is intended to expand the mind, personal confidence, experiences, and interests. These preparation programs are built on Fundamental Biblical Truths and Christian Beliefs.

Life Skills was started by Marius and Madelein Wolfaardt, we have been working with youth and children since 2004. We both are attuned to recognizing the potential in people and find it immensely rewarding to assist people on their walk of life, at whatever stage they might be. Learning life skills is not necessarily for people who have problems but it is beneficial to any person who wishes to improve their lives by doing worthwhile things, overcome challenges or get some guidance on their path of personal growth.

Letting Go Incidents or traumas could have a massive impact on how we perceive the world and respond today. This we know. But, sometimes, it’s also what we perceive as ‘small’ incidents, the ones you would remember and then discard just as quickly because it seems too insignificant to have an effect on you now. What I have learned is to not downplay things that seem to pop up every now and then. If there’s a bee, there’s a nest. And, if it’s having an effect on you now it’s important enough to pay attention to.
